Although some of you are still gearing up to squeeze in one last run or walk for 2009, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the City of Chicago's 2010 Athletic Permit Process Seminar.  We will THOROUGHLY review the permitting process and highlight any changes that may occur for 2010. 

 

Representatives from many of the city agencies including the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, Chicago Police Department, Streets and Sanitation, Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Park District and McCormick Place will also be present.  We request you bring all of your event questions to this meeting.

Make this winter a good one, sign up for a Chicago Park District program.  You can view winter programs online at chicagoparkdistrict.com.  Program registration begins Monday, Nov. 30 online and Saturday, Dec. 5 in person at the parks.  The session runs the weeks of Monday, Jan. 4 - Sunday, March 21.  

Refund Deadline Reminder: 
The deadline to request program refunds has been changed to two weeks prior to the program's start date. Many winter programs begin on 1/4/10, but program start dates vary.  Make sure to confirm the start date of the program(s) you registered for. This policy applies to both online and in-person registrations.  A 15% service charge is deducted from all ALL refunds and cancellations.

Embrace the cold - get out and skate!

Stay active throughout winter at citywide ice skating rinks. The Park District's nine rinks are open Saturday, Nov. 28 - Sunday, Feb. 28, weather permitting. Bring your own ice skates and skate for free!  Each site offers skate rentals for various fees and concessions are available at most rinks. All rinks are outdoors with the exception of McFetridge in California Park. Go here for more information.
