Page 1 of 5 November 30, 2006 Good Evening. First I want to thank everyone here for their support, hard work and their kindness, and not just for this upcoming election, but for my entire tenure as Alderman of the 46th Ward. Truly, what we have been able to accomplish here has been a cooperative effort of many thousands. Tonight we celebrate. We celebrate because together we are on the brink of creating the model community that we envisioned together when we first started this journey. I seek another term as Alderman of the 46th Ward to fulfill a vision that has molded my life and to this day continues to dominate my thinking. I have always believed that it was not only possible, but indeed desirable to demonstrate that a diverse community in every aspect can live together in peace, stability and harmony, while prospering together. I believed that it was possible to bring in public services and attract private investment into our community without displacing large segments of our community. |
