As many of you know, finding a parking space can be difficult here in the 46th Ward. With so many residents and so many visitors driving and parking in our community, finding a decent parking spot can turn into a huge ordeal. In order to ease some of the parking woes we all face, several area businesses have agreed to allow local residents (meaning those who live within the surrounding blocks of the business) to use their parking lots for overnight parking. All of the lots observe very specific days, times and spaces in which they allow cars to park on their property. Any cars that do not abide by the days, time and the specific parking spaces disignated to this program will be towed at the owner's expense. All permits are issued out of the 46th Ward Community Service Office, and new permits are printed every three to four months. In order to qualify for a permit, we ask that you show proof of residency and provide us with your license plate number, city sticker number and telephone number (if applicable). For locations of these parking lots and to receive permits, please contact Ald. Shiller's Community Service Office.
