On February 15th, Mayor Daley announced that Chicago is the official flagship city for this important worldwide event where for one hour Saturday, March 29th – from 8 p.m to 9 p.m. -- residents, businesses, landmarks and organizations are being asked to voluntarily turn off their lights to reduce energy consumption. Green Exchange is exploring various ways to actively support this eco-event and we encourage all of you to do the same. Participation will be tracked among the cities, and we’re hoping to show that Chicago is truly a world leader in caring for the environment, so please register your participation by visiting www.earthhourus.org. On the web site, you can also download materials for more ideas of ways to participate.
