ImageThe City of Chicago and the Department of Consumer Services have joined a group of federal, state and local government agencies and national consumer advocacy organizations to help launch the Tenth Annual National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 4-7, 2008

NCPW seeks to highlight the importance of consumer education in the fight against fraud.  During this week, the Department of Consumer Services will be distributing information on consumer fraud protection and answering questions at an informational booth on the first floor of City Hall, 121 N LaSalle, during the hours of 9am to 5pm.  Consumers can visit the informational booth at City Hall and receive literature to protect themselves from consumer fraud.  Consumers can also complete complaint forms on site.

Also, during National Consumer Protection Week, the Department of Consumer Services will launch a new Fraud Prevention Challenge.  Consumers can join this challenge to receive notifications of consumer fraud and scams occurring in the communities.
