Water main work will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday, February 5 along the short stretch of Racine between Sunnyside (south) and Sunnyside (north). The work is expected to last two days.

To reach the main, crews will open the street. Because of that, there will be no parking along that stretch of Racine from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Signs posted along the street should reflect those times and days accurately. Crews will also block Racine to through traffic at Montrose, block Clifton to through traffic at Montrose, and block Sunnyside (north) at the alley between Racine and Magnolia.

Racine residents living south of the construction area will still be able to park along the street, but getting in and out will be more difficult. Residents on the west side of Racine can enter on Clifton and exit on Montrose. Those on the east side of the street can enter on Montrose and, when leaving, make a three-point turn where Sunnyside (south) meets Racine and exit on Montrose. Those parking on Sunnyside, next to and opposite Truman's smaller building, will not be able to get in and out between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Expect interruptions to water service throughout both days as crews connect the following buildings to the new main:

4446 Racine
4450 Racine
4454 Racine
4458 Racine

Each interruption should last about two hours. All residences will have water service at the end of each day, regardless of work progress. We apologize for the inconvenience.
