Via Cook County Animal and Rabies Control

The Cook County Department of Animal & Rabies Control has announced a series of community clinics to be held from June through September of 2009 that will allow pet owners in Cook County to receive discounts on rabies vaccinations and micro-chipping for their dogs, cats and ferrets through the Department’s mobile medical unit.

The shots and microchips are available to all dogs, cats and ferrets three months old and greater owned by Cook County residents with a valid ID. Residents must pay for the services by check or cash only. No credit or debit cards are accepted.

Fees

• Rabies Vaccines - $7 single-year / $21 three-year
• Microchip - $10

Both fee schedules are below the cost that veterinarians typically charge for these procedures.
