MOPD Field Office Service Schedule

Via the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities

Effective Wednesday, April 1, 2009, the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) Field Office, located at 2102 W Ogden Avenue, will adjust its schedule for walk-in services to better meet the needs of residents with disabilities.

The new service hours will be:

  • Monday - 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Tuesday - 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Wednesday - No Walk-Ins Accepted (at 2102 W Ogden location only)
  • Thursday - 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm

In order to receive application assistance for the Circuit Breaker and RTA Reduced Fare/People Ride Free Programs, residents must bring the following: photo identification, verification of disability (such as SSI award letter), proof of income and verification of rent or property taxes.  Walk-in services are provided to residents on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 8:30am.

NOTE: MOPD's new service schedule will not impact services provided to seniors by the Department of Family and Support Services, Area Agency on Aging at the Central-West Field Office.

Assistance Available by Phone and at City Hall Location Monday - Friday

Residents will still be able to recieve disability-related assistance by phone Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm by calling 312 744 6673 (voice) or 312 744 7833 (TTY).  In addition, the MOPD City Hall office, located at 121 N LaSalle Street, Room 104, will remain open to walk-in visitors Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

On Wednesdays, residents seeking assistance with the Circuit Breaker and Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Reduced Fare or Free Ride programs may visit/contact the following agencies:

  • Circuit Breaker - State of Illinois Department of Aging office, 160 N LaSalle St., Suite N-700; or call 1-800-624-2459 (voice) 1-888-206-1327 (TTY) for additonal locations that offer assistance in person.  Individuals may also apply online at https://cbrx1.aging.illinois.gov/app/cbci/.
  • RTA Reduced Fare or Free Ride Program - RTA Office, 165 N Jefferson St.; or call 312-913-3110 (voice), 312-836-4949 (TTY) for other locations that offer assistance in person.
