Cook County has received funding to assist Cook County residents who are still facing health and social welfare issues relating to the floods of 2008.

The Cook County Disaster Grant (CCDG) has been established to assist businesses, families and individuals who were impacted by the severe storms and flooding that occurred between September 13th, 2008 and October 5th, 2008.

As a result of Presidential Disaster Declarations, FEMA’s public and individual assistance programs provided support immediately following the floods. As helpful as these programs were, they did not address many of the human services needs of Cook County residents and businesses.

In recognition of this, the US Health and Human Services Agency is providing additional Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) funding to impacted Illinois counties, specifically for health and human services needs. This funding has been made available through the Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness within the Illinois Department of Human Services.

If you require assistance from this program or if you feel you are a victim of the floods and may qualify for this program, please contact our Hotline Number at 312-603-7600.
