Via the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD)

The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) offers FREE amplified phones through the Illinois Telecommunications Access Corporation!

There are many different types and degrees of hearing loss.  Because a phone works for another person does not mean it will work for you.  There are various differences in tone and clarity which must be matched to your needs. The only proven way to do this is to try the phones on a "real" call.  Our Selection Centers at MOPD's two offices are set up to help you do this Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm.
