ImageNorth Broadway from Wilson Avenue to Montrose Avenue

Broadway from Wilson Avenue to Montrose Avenue will be improved as the City renovates the street with infrastructure upgrades. These enhancements are part of a comprehensive streetscaping project designed by the City of Chicago Department of Transportation in close cooperation with community representatives and Alderman Shiller.

The $4.3 million project will consist of numerous aesthetic and architectural elements including decorative lighting, stamped crosswalks, landscaped planters and trees and tree grates.

Traffic Impacts

Throughout construction, Broadway will remain open to motorists and pedestrians and access to buildings and residences will be maintained. In order to keep the street open to traffic, parking will not be allowed in the area of construction. In addition, there will be periodic parking restrictions on some side streets.

Work is scheduled to begin on the west side of Broadway between Montrose Avenue and Sunnyside Avenue.

The CTA bus routes will not be affected. For more information, please call the CTA information hotline at: (all Chicagoland area codes) 836-7000.
