4600 N. Racine Redirection, One-Way Northbound
06/07/2010

Signs will be posted on the 4600 block of Racine (N. Racine from Wilson to Leland) making this block of Racine a One Way Street going northbound.

This change is expected to happen in mid-June of 2010.

Fliers will be posted on the block in advance of the change with the date the signs will be posted.

Making this block of Racine one-way is part of the overall traffic plan related to the opening of the new Larry McKeon Administration Building and parking garage at Truman College.

Students, employees and visitors to Truman College will access the new parking garage by turning south on Racine from Wilson Avenue.

A new traffic signal will be installed at Wilson and Racine for traffic exiting Truman College (i.e., heading northbound on Racine at Wilson).

Making the 4600 block of Racine one-way northbound will help prevent vehicles from using the street when they enter the college, while still allowing the Fire Station at Wilson & Racine to quickly respond to emergency calls.
